A gallery of unrelated cases tells you very little. What helps is seeing cases that resemble your own — same tooth, similar bone, comparable starting point — with an explanation of what was and was not straightforward about them.
Reading the images
How to Judge Before and After Photographs
These are the things worth checking before you let a gallery influence which clinic you choose.
- Check whether the lighting, angle and lip position match between the two images. A change in any of those can flatter a result on its own.
- Check whether the case resembles yours. A result on a healthy young mouth says little about what is achievable where bone has been lost.
- Note how long after treatment the "after" photograph was taken. Gums settle over weeks, and appearance changes with them.
- Ask what the case involved. A striking result may have required extensive treatment that is not mentioned alongside the image.
- Treat identical, repeated-looking results with caution. Real cases vary.
- Photographs are only published where the patient has given written consent.
- Consent can be withdrawn, and images are removed when it is.
- No stock imagery is presented as a patient of this clinic.
- Images are not retouched to exaggerate a result.
- Every case is captioned with a note that individual results vary.
